    Hello Konrad,

The British Stars award Legit is from the 1st Corps, signed by Gen.Dyw. St. Maczek, is does also state that Permanent authority to be granted by the War Office, no doubt there was no record of his service held by the 1st Corps. That would have still been in Italy with 3DSK. Headquarters.

The Provisional means yes we can award these ribbons and Star's but not until we have confirmed that the service in theatre has met the stipulations set down with each award those being :

    1) The 1939-1945 Star Service service of Six Months in an Operational area during the conflict

    2) The Africa Star service in Theatre between 10th June 1940 to 12th May 1943

    3) The Italy Star service in Theatre from 11th June 1943 to 8th May 1945

I have also found the following photographs of Pplk. Sokol between the World Wars and after WW2.
