Hello Everyone,
I think that the Monte Cassino Cross Numbered 40427 awarded to Ppłk Eugeniusz Wiktor Łysak deserves for the presentation clearly in higher resolution in a separate post. It is not often that the Cross belonging to an Officer of such a high rank is auctioned. The Cross is in pefrect condition. And what's more, it was auctioned for such a low price - only 160 GBP.
Only 18 Crosses were granted to the soldiers of the Dowództwo Wojsk Łączności 2 Korpusu - Command, Army Signals 2 Corps (40421-40438).
During the Battle of Monte Cassino Ppłk Eugeniusz Łysak was the Commander of the 11 Batalion Łączności (11 Signals Battalion) and also he was the last Commander of the Battalion.
Regards
Konrad
Hi all
A little help please with the following medals. The Casino Cross has the number 26329 can anyone provide some information of the recipient. I am more used to researching british medals so am lost as to where to go for the info on these. Also there are some badges as shown in the other pic, no idea what the relevance to the cross if any. Finally does this cross not usually come with the british war medal and 39/45 star and italy star? i have seen them together in a pic somewhere and would love to reunite what the recipient had earned.
Thanks in advance for any info, pictures or general advice about the medals and if he was entitled to any more
Hello Steven,

Data regarding szer. Tadeusz Michorczyk from the Polish Institute of National Remembrance:
On the last photo you posted there is the Badge of the 5 Kresowa Dywizja Piechoty (5th Kresowa Infantry Division), also mini version of this Badge and Medal Wojska (Polish Army Medal). There is Numbered Badge of the 2nd Polish Corps as well. Also there is Polish Hat Eagle pattern 39.
5th Signals Battalion was a part of the 5th Kresowa Infantry Division.
The Recipient was also awarded four British medals: 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal and War Medal 1939-1945 which are missed in this lot unfortunately.

Konrad
Hello Steven,
May I be the first to welcome you to the Forum and congratulate you on your acquisition, Konrad has already given you the information available, I can only add the following for you That Tadeusz Michorczyk married Krystyna Marciniak in 1960 in Willesden in Middlesex.
I have searched other sites to try to find some more information for you, but without any joy, my last port of call will be to look through the 5KDP Magazines that I have from 1997-2009 to see if his death is listed.
Unfortunately he was not listed in the issues that I have.
Once again Welcome Steven
Best wishes
