    When awarded the Recipients details were as follows :

    Rank : Kapral (Corporal)

    Surname : Krzelowski

    Christian Name : Edward

    Date of Birth : 7th April 1912

    Fathers Name : Jan

    Place of Birth : Piołunka

    Army Number : 1912-380-III

    Unit : 5BCKM (5th Heavy Machine Gun Battalion, 5th Kresowa Infantry Division).

    Edward Krzelowski was either a regular or reservist in the September 1939 Campaign and was captured by the soviets of the 18th September in Dubno :

    After being released from his gulag he made his way to Tatiszczewo to join the Anders Army which he joined on the 5th September 1941, he survived the war in Europe and came to the UK with his Battalion and after being demobbed from the Polish Resettlement Corps he settled down to civilian life in a Foreign Land.

    Edward Krzelowski applied for British Citizenship and this was granted on the 30th June 1965 has shown below from the London Gazette :

    London gazette Issue Number : 43746, Page Numbered : 8089, Dated : 24th August 1965.

    Edward Krzelowski died in 1997 in Bury, Lancashire.

    Another Monte Cassino Cross that I came across whilst surfing :

    When awarded the Recipients details were as follows :

    Rank : Szer. (Private)

    Surname : Pietraszkiewicz

    Christian Name : Kazimierz

    Date of Birth : 13th March 1927

    Place of Birth : Białystok

    Army Number : 1927-1-III

    Unit : 5 Kresowy Batalion Łączności (5th Kresowa Signals Battalion)

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 26383

    Kazimierz was only 17 years of age when he served in the Battle for Monte Cassino, he survived the war in Europe, but unfortunately died on the 28th November 1945 and was buried in the Polish War Cemetery at Bologna.

    Many thanks for your post, you have had me chasing around the internet for the past 2 hours, well I have found the following information for you :

    With reagrds to Wanda Wyganowska

    When awarded the Monte Cassino Cross her details were as follows :

    Rank : Siostra.sal.

    Surname : Wyganowska

    Christian Name : Wanda

    Date of Birth : 11th April 1920

    Fathers Name : Stanisław

    Mothers Name : Aniela

    Army Number (also found on Her ID Tags) : 1920-104-III

    Unit : 3SW (3rd Military Hospital)

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 43052

    Wanda Wyganowska married Władysław Pisarski, Wanda Pisarska died on the 9th September 1972 in Wrexham and was buried on the 15th September 1972 in grave number : H13414

    Her Husband Władysław Pisarski born 20th April 1908 died on the 28th September 1982 and was buried on the 15th October 1982 in the same grave H13414

    With regards to Janina Wyganowska she was not listed has being a recipient of the Monte Cassino Cross, but she did serve has a volunteer (Och.) I was able to glean the following information for you :

    Born 24th June 1924, she was married to Stanisław Kusiński, she died on the 18th March 2006 aged 82 in Lancashire.

    Pisarski applied for and was granted British Citizenship London Gazette, Number : 45115, Page : 6229, Dated : 4th June 1970

    Rudzki applied for and was granted British Citizenship London Gazette Number : 41803, Page 5456, Dated 28th August 1959

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 41016

    St.Szer. Jerzy Zawadowski survived the war in Europe and was serving in the 3 Carpathian Batalion Łączności (3rd Carpathian Signals Battalion) he came to the UK with his Battalion and after being demobbed settled down to civilian life in a foreign land, Jerzy Died in 1999 in Leyland, Lancashire.
