    Surname : Halicki

    Christian Name : Bronisław

    Date of Birth : 1st August 1912

    Fathers Name : Michał

    Army Number : 1912-60-III

    Unit : 15BS, 5KDP (15th Rifle Battalion, 5th Kresowa Infantry Division)

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 17151

    Bronisław Halicki survived the war and died on the 22nd April 2004, aged 91 he was buried in St. Marys, Harrow Road, Kensal Green, London.

    Date of Birth : 18th July 1909

    Fathers Name : Andrzej

    Place of Birth : Muniaczkowice

    Army Number : 1909-207-III

    Unit : 8 Pułk Artylerii Przeciwlotniczej Ciężkiej (8th Heavy Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment)

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 36654

    I also found the following information on Ogn. Henryk Barański, from the Regimental History

    By the end of the war in Europe he had been awarded the Cross of Valour (KW), his British Stars Legitymacja was numbered : 59, his Legitymacja for the Army Medal (MW) was numbered : 1066, and his 2nd Corps Badge and Legitymacja were numbered (only 3 digits listed) : 140.

    Could you be so kind and provide some information regarding two 2nd Polish Corps soldiers, most likely Recipients of the Monte Cassino Cross?

    They both came from the same community in Poland.

    The 1st one is:

    Kpr. Stanisław Gmiter, born 27.02.1915 in Miedzna, Węgrów district, division: 5 Kresowa DP. According to his data form the IPN and CAW databases he was born in 1914:

    And the 2nd one is Jan Tyszko, born 1906.

    Kucharczyk Antoni
    Born: most of all on 1915
    granted for his naturalizatione certificate on
    20th February 1950.

    From his family story killed back on duty.

    I have looked through the Register with regards to Stanisław Gmiter nothing listed and with regards to Jan Tyszko only one listed who was born in 1909.

    I was able to glean the following information for you on Jan Tyszko Born 30th June 1906 Fathers Name : Rajmund.

    Hello Andrzej!

    Many thanks for your reply.
    Most of all it is him.
    He died in Scotland on 1972 at the age of 57.
