    I have since found another photograph showing him wearing both the Cross of Valour and Monte Cassino Cross, plus some further information about him :

    Place of Birth : Ostrozec, Dubno, Wołyń

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 19885

    Bohdan Wierzbowski survived the war in Europe and after coming to the UK with his Battalion emigrated to the United States where he died on the 19th January 1966 aged 54 in Buffalo, Erie, New York.

    Sierż. Stanisław Chmura, born: 01.10.1910, Army number: 1910-77-III, Unit: 13 Wileński Batalion Strzelców "Rysiów", Monte Cassino Cross Numbered: 15589, also awarded the Cross of Valour nad the BKZzM

    There are visible ribbons of the Cross of Valour, BKZzM and the Monte Cassino Cross on his uniform.
