    Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to research a couple of Monte Cassino Medals in my collection and stumbled across the Monte Cassino thread here.

The first MCC I have is #15743, which according to lists I've found online, was awarded to Mikolaj Kuryla of the 13th "Wilenski" Battalion. I would love to confirm this is accurate, find out if there is any additional information on him and possibly a photo of the recipient to display with the cross.

    Monte Cassino crossMonte Cassino cross

The second MCC I have is #36631, falls in the range for the 8th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, but I haven't found anything additional on the recipient. This medal came in the standard British mailing box along with the recipients 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star and War Medal. The box is addressed to "Mr. Bucholc R.Z." from the Polish Resettlement Corps in Surrey (U.K.). Like the first cross, I'd like to confirm the recipient, obtain any possible additional information and a photo, if possible.

    Thanks,

    Hi Andrzej,

Many thanks for the information on both of my crosses. I am glad that I was able to confirm that the MCC that came with the mailing box is correct. Interesting to see that he also was awarded several other items that were not included in the group. In some of your other posts, I see that you have posted a photo of the Legitymacja, would it be possible to obtain a scan of the one you've referenced above?

    Thanks,

    Nathan
