Sharing some more...
Here is a selection of Polish documents used in Iran by refugees who fled Poland and the USSR...

Does this mean that the Poles had Consulates overseas after they were defeated, besides the exile government in London?...Or am I missing something here, lol...I notice that Tehran must have had a Polish Embassy/Consulate to issue that passport in 1943...Interesting, thanks!

Hi Glenn,

Yes, it seems they had consulates and embassies in neutral countries and those considered western allies. We find them also in Tokyo, closed just before Pearl Harbor in 1941...even in South America, Argentina and even Tel Aviv, see images...I mainly collect such passpports from 1939 to 1945.

Last 2 are the rarest ones: fake 1939 passport, most likely 'made' by the Polish embassy in Budapest, used for escaping west...

Great collection, however this thread should be rather moved to the Polish Armed Forces in the West (Polskie Siły Zbrojne na Zachodzie) 1939-1947 section.
As regards the Polish embassies and consulates – legal Polish government (continuing tradition of the II Republic – II Rzeczypospolita) existed throughout the war, actively functioning on all over the areas of political, social, military life (even in the occupied country, within the underground structures – e.g. Polish Army was established as Polskie Siły Zbrojne – Polish Armed Forces abroad e.g. in the Middle East, Africa, UK and forces on occupied territory – Armia Krajowa - Home Army).
Government had representatives all over the world, assisting Polish citizens (e.g. issuing proper documents etc.).
Situation changed after the Yalta conference (February 1945) when actual Polish government had been disregarded by coalition (UK, USA, USSR) and the communist Provisional Government of the Republic of Poland had been recognized officially.
