    Default Polish exile regimental badge

    Hello,
I have this badge and I know that it is 14 pulk Kawalerii Pancernej. The exile regimental badges are not my field and this was a recent purchase. I would greatly appreciate more info on this item. I have compared this badge to photos in Odznaki Wojska Polskiego 1918-1945 by Zdzislaw Sawicki and Adam Wielechowski book, and badge appears identical. However, as I stated earlier,I'm not an expert and would appreciate professional opinion.
    Thank You

Hi Hubal, I don't see any reason to doubt this as an authentic EM version of the 1th Armoured Cavalry Regiment badge. It is a product of Chisholm and Mackay, Edinburgh and has a correct spinner for this maker. A scarcely seen badge. Congratulations on your acquisition.

    Regards,
    Tony

Hubal, you are most welcome. And congratulations again on a very nice and desirable badge. Valuable too.

And 22Coy, re "great looking badge with superb stylistic details"- Agreed. Without a doubt the design work devoted to the majority of the PSZ badges was superb. It's no wonder that many of the modern Polish Army badges borrow so heavily from the themes of the past. I'm sure this is in part a nod of respect to their military heritage, but equally so because the originals just cannot be beat.

    Cheers,
    Tony
