Hi Jurek,
Yes, this is the current version of the Air Force cap badge. I’ve seen it referred to as the “wz.93” (model 1993) pattern.
In post # 1331 are you able to post a close up of the eagle bottom row second from right? It appears to be a Canadian made G.J. Garratt (Toronto) product. The eagle directly above it is Canadian made, by Wm. Scully of Montreal.

Tony

Thank you Tony, O Canada...
And now to name just 4 Larger Eagles for your and ours enjoyment.

Jurek, the maker-marked eagle is from the Skarnicki & Fiszbein factory. The one with “Polen” engraved in the amazon shield could very well be a ‘September souvenir’ taken by German soldier. I’ve seen such repossessed eagles marked this way before.
Cheers,
Tony

I am very happy to share with you this – curiosity! As I think – it has a story!
Aluv.. 39/40 made in France Eagle in perfect condition – with seldom seen – undamaged factory version fastening!
What is important - looks like the Eagle was never attached to a hat.
How interesting the circumstances associated the alteration, must have been?
Owner cuts-off the crown – clearly to manifest his strong political convictions.
Was he a left winger / socialist / communist? Was this done at the beginning of Polish Army in France being formed and / or in 45 at the end of the war.
At both points in time socialist influences had been strong. Firstly, in 39 as a lot of Polish volunteers has been coal-miners and working class fellows an well under very strong influence of French unions and socialist. Secondly, at the end a sizable proportion of Polish representation in French Resistance had supported pro-communist Polish Government. It was crated under the umbrella of CCCP as the “counterbalance” to London based Government of Free Poles and with the special task to implement the actual violent take-over of the country and society by communists.
As mentioned - looks like the Eagle was never attached to a hat. Had the owner – changed his mind? Was he afraid of being singled out by overwhelming majority of fellows around him? Perhaps.
Whatever reasons – he placed the Eagle safely away and kept it for years – did not destroy it.
What was the story of this fellow? We most likely will never know!
Had he changed or had he kept his views over years?
Whatever happened – this Eagle is a rare testimony as to how individuals - can cope with circumstances at the time of tectonic political and social movements happening around them!
Thank you Tony.
