Dear Fellows,
Recently purchased Polish Badge Gontarczyk. I Think its pre WW2 but not sure?
Dear Fellows recently purchased this badge. Don't know what it is perhaps someone in internetland can advise me
welcome to the forum!
this is a "trial" of a badge that was initiated by the Poles who participated in French Campagne in 1940. Badge was designed in England in 42+ (if I remember correctly) and after much of discussions with Polish military authorities - it was not actually approved for military use (commemorative of otherwise). However, seems like a number of badges were coined and eventually introduced for a civilian circulation. FYI - there are 2 versions - one you presenting and 2nd - smaller - featuring just the Polish national banner. Extensive documentation re discussion between designers and Polish military authorities can be found at the Sikorski's Institute in London (all in polish)
hope this helps
I have tried to get better photo's hope this helps!
The Amoured Forces badge looks to stand a good chance of being genuine. Once again, sharply focused close up photos of the reverse that show the serial number and the hallmarks would help eliminate the possibility of this being a good quality replica.

Tony

To share a recent addition to the collection, the badge of the Officers Topographical School. One of the scarcer 2nd Corps badges. Tony Leszczuk mentions in his recent book on PSZ badges that: “This was a specialist school for existing officers and not one for officer cadets”. No doubt this has contributed to the scarcity of this badge. He continues: “In common with all other higher military school badges, as well as those of staff colleges, it was worn on the right uniform pocket.”
