Unknown Auto-Tank Regiment captain of the pre-war Estonian army, ca.1926-1936. I guess he had something to do with Estonian army buying 6 TKS tankettes in 1934/35. I will soon try to find out his name.
The unknown captain is Nikolai Masing (1892-1953). One interesting fact is that during the 1924 Estonian coup d'état attempt he was the driver in the armored car which helped to defeat the communist rebels. He was released from the army in 14.12.1935, because he was a member of the Vaps Movement. In the reserv army his rank was lowered from captain to private in 28.07.1936.
Hi LoCo,
Thanks for the posts. It’s interesting to learn of the circumstances that resulted in the award of the badge, and equally so to see it mounted to this Estonian officer’s uniform.
The collapse of this officer’s military career was tragic. On the upside, at least he avoided jail, something which others in the Vaps Movement weren’t able to escape.
Regards,
Tony
Probably the most well known Polish Regimental Badges of WW2

A quick scan of the four award documents:
Top left: 3DSK (only unfolded one I have ever seen)
Top Right: 5KDP (bearing the image of the pre-war Polish national boundaries and the proclamation: “without Wilno or Lwow there is no Poland” – which, alas, was not they way things ended up)
Bottom Left: 2nd Corps Badge (this is my father’s award document)
Bottom Right: 2 Warsaw Armoured Division of 2 Polish Corps
