Waclaw Urbanski. - 1st Independent Polish Parachute Brigade.
21/2/1915 - 12/2/2014.
99 years old.
3rd battalion. 8th Company.
KW - Arnhem.
Duty Done.
Now may you rest.

Mr Urbanski was one of the Poles who crossed the Rhine, and was in the fighting around the Stationweg.
In 2004, I stood outside the Schoonord with him, and he explained how himself and seven others dashed over the crossroads to the stationweg houses.
In his words "The bullets being fired down the Utrecthweg was like horizontal rain".
The eighth Pole in the group was shot down and killed. he body lay in the crossroads, and there was nothing that could be done for him.
