    General Wladyslaw Sikorski was buried here in 1943 after his mysterious death. In 1993 his remains were returned to Poland with full military honours

    Looking around the graves of the teenage boys buried there was a very sobering experience

    It is sobering to see the grave of a teenager. There were far too many. May their ultimate sacrifice be remembered for eternity.

    Hello Everyone,

    In June 1947 there was another funeral held at the Polish War Cemetery at Newark upon Trent in Nottinghamshire, that of the Polish President Władysław Raczkiewicz who died on the 6th June 1947 in Ruthin Castle in Wales.

    Walking by the side of the funeral hearse are Generals Janusz Julian Głuchowski, Tadeusz Malinowski, Stanisław Kopański, Bolesław Bronisław Duch, Stefan Jacek Dembiński-Dembina, Mieczysław Norwid-Neugebauer and Nikodem Sulik.

    Polish Prime Minister in Exile Tomasz Stefan Arciszewski and his wife, followed by General Anders with the late Presidents wife Jadwiga Raczkiewicz they in turn are followed by the widow of General Sikorski Helena Sikorska with Tadeusz Tomaszewski who would be the 3rd Prime Minister in Exile after the death are Tomasz Arciszewski who would die the following month.

    Hello Everyone,

    Just read an article on Facebook from the local newspaper for Newark upon Trent, the Bodies of President Władysław Raczkiewicz, President August Zaleski and President Stanisław Ostrowski have been exhumed and returned to Poland to be buried in Warsaw.
