Hey Stefan,
Sorry but I think these are both made for Veterans, But I may be wrong.
Regards
Emil
These particular armbands were worn by veterans after the War. I believe they were made in London and shipped to various Polish Veterans Organisations around the world. I have seen them been worn by Polish veterans in Poland and Australia. Not sure about the US...
Guys, I am not so sure that these armbands are in fact post-war?
In a recent large batch of 1943/44 AK photos I purchased the officer, Kapitan Stanisław Sojczyński "Warszyc" commander of First Battalion of the 27th Infantry Regiment of the Home Army, seems to be wearing very similar armband. The eagle on his armband does not appear to be printed but looks like it is wire-bullion woven despite the blurry photo.
* * * *From Doomed Soldiers:
“Warszyc” was the creator and commanding officer of the Konspiracyjne Wojsko Polskie (abr. KWP). He was arrested by the Polish Polish secret police , the UB, on June 27, 1946. After a staged “trial” of the leadership of KWP in Łódź on December 9-16, 1946, he was sentenced to death. Captain Stanisław Sojczyński, nom de guerre(s) "Warszyc" was executed by the Communist regime on February 19, 1947.
