4 police buckles

Article about: Ben, thanks for the kind words. It is very interesting and a bit perplexing that no one else on the forum has said a word about this buckle. Regards, Bill

    Default 4 police buckles

Hi Chaps, here's four police buckles I picked up recently. Top left is a 1941 dated alu JFS, bottom left an unmarked zinc parade buckle, top right a faintly marked steel CTD & bottom right a steel Overhoff.

Question, is the Overhoff a Fire Police buckle?

    Cheers,

    Richard.

Wow, your JFS buckle is quite simply the cherry on the cake!

I don't think that the steel buckle on the lower right belongs to the fire police as the colour on reverse is silver. I would expect on a steel buckle the same colour on obverse as well on reverse! I know further only fire police buckles made from aluminium (die stamped or two piece construction). Just my 2 cents!

    Best,
    Guido

Thanks Guido, I was chuffed to get the JFS. I wanted an alu example & don't think I'll able to upgrade this one!! Yeah, I see what you mean about the Overhoff. It must have been a repaint; but looking at the wear it was done during it's use, Cheers, Richard.

Richard, 4 very nice buckles, the JFS is in outstanding condition, ref the fire police buckle I am with Guido, if you look on the rear you can see traces of the silver wash so for me standard police buckle
