Z, very interesting buckle and a maker that has been debated before. The buckle is Overhoff and genuine. There was a leather maker named Max Muller which made pouches, straps etc. In regards to yours from the tab, the stitching and wear to the tab I think actually it could be genuine. Why the mis match? Well maybe Muller bought some buckles from Overhoff and put their tabs on. A member of the Police unit went home to Nurnberg and had the tab put on. So for me buckle fine, tab could be original. Have a read of this thread, its quite interesting

I think the leather tab is period and original from them pics, as to why its on a Overhoff buckle I do not know
