Syrian Army Cloth badge help need

Hi there Team

I have this cloth insignia its Syrian Army crossed simitar .

However I would like to know what is it Syrian Army designation ie Formation sign , Army Shoulder patch etc..

It old so and you can see the worn face side as opposed to the obverse dark green, when would this have been worn?


Its machine embroidered on wool.

Any help would be appreciated.
