Hello Al I found one on Shea's site. I don't get a great feeling about the example you posted. The color looks off (dull zinc?); alot of these brocade buckles popping up on eBay recently from all factions of German military and government. See what others say. Best regards.

Thanks Brian. Yes I agree, it really doesn't have the bling that the Shea one has, it looks 'flat'/dull.

I agree Al when you look at the two side by side it's quite a visible difference. Granted alot of things come into play when patina/wear is involved...but all these buckles I see these days have that characteristic dullness to them. Not bad detail but something is just off about them.

Remind the difference in the tone for the color since 1938:
silver-tone (Silber) and old silver (Altsilber) tone, as in use
by the ranks Feldmeister up and to incl. Oberstarbeitsführer
and often used when wearing a leather belt.

Both look good to me. IMO the lighting and background create a different overall appearance . G

There are lots of unmarked one. I prefer the Overhoff or Assmann marked buckles but my RAD Generals is unmarked. Go to the archives of eMedals and you will find lots of examples. Most of them on brocades. This is a common buckle so I would pass on it if your not 100%.

Thanks guys. The price is right, so I will probably add to the buckle collection.

I have these two RAD (Off & EM) buckles, Unmarked. Anyone have any thoughts as to who the makers are?

The EM is marked at the bottom of the spade on both sides.
