I finally got some renaissance wax and decided to compare it with Beeswax. Here are images of the Beeswax helmet before it was cleaned:

Bees wax has more sheen then the ren wax. Was the bees wax expensive? I like the look. Thanks.

Ian, Sorry this took so long to reply to. The beeswax is cheaper by far! I will send you some pics of how they both come. The R wax is easy to apply but has no sheen, the bees wax has to be heated and melted to rub on. R wax is $25 for 200 ml and beeswax is $12 or $13 a pound.

    Hi there.

I had a search for soldiers called Kurt Höh. There are two listed on the Volksbund and three that have Casualty cards. Although I cannot say that this helmet belonged to any of these men, I thought I would post this information.

    Name: Kurt Höh
    Birth date: 24 March 1922
    Birth Place: Altenkirchen
    Military Rank: Gefreiter
Military Unit: 4/Kompanie Füsilier Regiment "Großdeutschland"
    Death date: 16 December 1942
    Death Place: Pysino
    Father full name: Hermann Höh
Kurt Höh has probably been transferred as an unknown soldier to the military cemetery Rshew.

    Gefallen : Infanterie Geschuß Kopf
Killed in action: Infantry shot head

    Kind regards,

    Will.

    Will,

Thanks for that information, the helmet has certainly been shot through so I guess that would make sense.
