Is this an M40 (Luftwaffe) and what is it worth

I have bought this one in a collection, and am told that it is 100% authentic...

My question is if it is a M40 ?

I am going to sell it but have no idea what price i could ask for a helmet in this condition (which i think is very nice!!).

Yes, m40Looks ok to me. See the rust showing at the left wing? That's a good sign. Liner looks to be in great condition. As well. Also, I can't tell but the paint looks almost black. That's typical of flak crew. It's a big size too! As for price, we arent really here to give prices, but maybe someone will give you one.

Thank you very much.. i am not a WWII collector and do not know what to ask for this helmet.. that is why i tried to get an estimated value :-) .. but perhaps i should put it on auction then.

Well, you would do better selling on a places like this because auctions take a lot of money from you. I've seen these go anywhere from $700 and up

I love the way Luftwaffe SE helmets patinate. You could tell the maker without even looking at the stamp.

probably in the 600 range. got some rust damage but nice liner assuming its original to this helmet

I would agree with helmetone the liner and chin strap are excellent, and the decal is not bad either, there is only some miner damage to the paint on the shell a nice helmet

Yes, the one side is damaged but the rest is all there. At least the good side has the decal!
