M40 police helmet Double Decal?

Hello I’m new to the forum.

I primarily collect US items and am not well versed in German items. I just purchased this helmet from a co worker who said he picked it up in an alleyway in the 1960s. I’m pretty sure it’s legit, but am posting it here to make sure. The color also appears to be Apple green. Any information you can tell me about the helmet would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. It would be better if you posted photos in the right direction so that colleagues can more easily form an opinion.
The rivets for the lining look like a relic, as do some parts of the lid. I'm not sure about my opinion. Wait for more opinions.

This one has had a hard life with its chewed on liner and missing paint but looks OK from these photos.

You will need to up load some clear side on photos of both decals in order for them to be evaluated.

I don't see any issues with it - obviously has a good deal of atmospheric surface corrosion ( maybe why it was discarded at the time ) and now it looks like someone has applied oil to stop further decay ( maybe after discovery?)

Our resident 'spurts would obviously like to see close up decal shots to be sure.....

Thanks for the info so far. Any idea on value. Would it be better to remove the oil that was applied, or better to leave it on? Here are the requested close ups of the decals. (Apologies for the sideways photos, it’s my first post.)
