Hmmm… I never knew how hard it was to reply to a post
Patience.........
Helmet looks OK to me. Can't see good details of the split pins to make a call but don't see why they would be fake. Makes no sense to add fake pins to a Relic.

The glare is a little distracting unfortunately. It appears to have been cleaned in oxalic acid and the split pins do indeed look odd but I think this is because the outer domed caps have been lost. These split pins are in brass I think.
Hi - the pins have been removed and then replaced as part of the cleanup ( maybe not even from this helmet? ) because the zinc liner band is missing.
The flat type of pin is a later type - I'm not sure which maker used them ( probably not ET - which is why I think they have been added for looks )
BTW, if the 'cap' of a pin is missing / fallen off you would see the rectangular shape of the 2 legs as they go through the split washer (the cap, domed or flat ) hides that.
Sorry, I'm being pedantic now ....

I think that is a great lid, the pins look fine and as noted might be from another helmet, but that was common during the war as well.
Ok thank you all for your replies, so my conclusion is that the splitpins are not original?
