Hi,
Here are some photos of the remains from another german M35 steel helmet, which was found yesterday in the positions where in 1944.december - 1945. march was stationed grenadier regiment 502 (290. Infantry division/ Wehrmacht), with other units. The helmet was in collapsed bunker where a wooden log from ceiling had fallen on it, partially breaking the shell. The M35 seems to be manufactured after 1938 judging from the M31 N. A. pattern reinforced liner, the shell size could be 62, the chinstrap has no markings because it has been shortened. The helmet liner leather shows signs of being used for long time judging from oval shaped ventilation holes in the tongues from being stretched out. The shell has been repainted with 2nd layer of paint by hand using brush.
With best regards,
