How to clean bronze!!??

Hello yesterday at a militaria show i bought this medal for $40 which was a great deal considering how scarce it is,But the problem is the bronze is not a light bronze like in the picture [the picture is not acually my cross] its a dark dity color i know toothpaste works i tried using it on the back but it would take for ever to get through it and i tried vinager on a few coins once and they came out all dry and not appealing.Does anyone know any good ways to clean bronze??Preferably with out buying any polishes or something

Thats no my medal it was more of an example i would love it to look clean like that and not almost black

Sorry thats there not the best pictures but my cameras broken and i had to use my webcam

Maybe i can borrow my friends or get mine fixed but until then here it is

Sometimes the look of the bronze/brass better to leave in the condition as is, due of after cleaning it lose the green patina and recieve craters. 5-7 % Nitric acid anyway a good method.

I would also leave it as it is!
But human salive, helps.It will also take long, but it is cheap! (no joke!!)

I couldnt help touching it :S

But i acually got great results and it looks as good in that picture!
I first mixed vinager and some salt i put it in for 1 min or less to get all the hard to clean dirt out and the rest i got a q-tip dipped it in tooth paste and scrubbed rinsed and now its perfect!
