Good Restoration Work - the paint job is quite convincing...I only hope that I never see this helmet priced as an Original SS Helmet where an unwitting collector is taken to the cleaners thinking he's got the real deal in his hands...It happens way too often these days...

Thanks Glenn :-)
I restored the helmet to a private collection for my friend, I hope that once he decides to sell it, he will state that it is a restored helmet.
But i absolutely understand to you
I've restored a few of these myself over the years, replacing missing liners and repainting the shell if it needs to be repainted, but I never add decals -not my thing-... I always point out what I've done to the shell and it's clearly reflected in the -far lower- price, as I only seek to recoup my expenses for the parts used...Besides, my skills aren't as good as yours so they'd never pass close inspection anyway, lol...
Glenn
I gave the decal at the request of the owner, because the helmet in Brian ICE's book is kept as ss.
I'm still learning how best to achieve the original look, but there's still room for improvement
