Mid/ Late War M38 Paratrooper helmet

My finished M38 (68) restoration. The original shell has had no damages and was found in a barn in Netherlands missing its liner. There is an indication that this helmet was sort of a grave/ monument installation because exactly in the center of the dome is a bulge of welded iron.

I know that many collectors dislike restoring projects but for me in this case it feels
like giving this helmet its "soul" back.

It is possible that the helmet was used in the barn as a scoop or to feed animals especially as it has some welding done to it.

I think it is very good restoration, but imho i would make it older: scratches, abrasions, a little dirt stains

Good job -although I would lose the west German net ( with those black clips ) originals never had them as far as I know......

It is a very good rescue, but myself I would have perhaps left it without decal, liner etc.

Thanks all for your input and compliments. I guess that my helmet just left the Thale factory.
