Yeah there might be some rot on there.
Even if it didnt come in contact with other zinc rot I would cover it in vaseline or Petroleum jelly as a preventative.
Nice name aswell Dovah-Kiin!

As I understand it, it has more to do with the conditions in which the items are stored (i.e: too humid), rather than simply contact between them.

Galvanized items ( I'm talking about general items ) can suffer "wet storage staining" or white corrosion if they contact each other AND they are in a damp environment like say, a hessian sack.
We had that problem with galvanized shackles and bolts left out in the rain so I suppose it also works for small items like medals....

Thanks a lot for Your reply!
I will do as You say. Anyway, I have a few questions; is there possibility of silvering damage during process? Do I have to somehow wipe out the pest before conservation?
Kind regards
PS
Thank You for kind words about my nick - glad to meet someone here who knows what I meant

It may darken the badge just a tinge but I dont think it would damage any silvering on there better than letting the pest grow in any case.
Most I would use is a very soft toothbrush if any to take off any zinc pest but I wouldn't mess with it on this example.
I've seen some people use Gun oil aswell to slow down zinc pest aswell.
Here is an older thread regarding zinc pest on a Silver APB
