    Default DLV/RLB Buckle Opinions

I think this is DLV, but unsure because of the controversy over the wing style. I ran across this buckle and wondering if it's legit. It's unmarked, not cast, not magnetic (the bar is magnetic), appears to have correct prongs, and the catch appears to be welded on. However, I count 18 berries - is that acceptable design for a legit buckle? Also, the belt and catch look odd - opinions on that as well. Many thanks!

    Hello,
Imo an original buckle from the DLV/RLB in nickel silver/nickel...
The belt is not an original from the period and does not belong to the buckle shown

Regarding the question asked as to whether both variants (those with straight and those with sloping wings) were used on the DLV or RLB,

As far as I know, both buckles were used on both the DLV and the RLB. It is probably the case that the variants depend on the manufacturer. There was probably no manufacturer that had both variants (wing shape) in their sales program.
There are also original pictures that prove that both variants of buckles were worn with the DLV uniform.

I cannot make any statement (true/untrue) regarding the statement in/from Bandau which defines this (similar) buckle for “officials in the diplomatic service”.

I agree, original buckle. Belt is not WW2.
