It looks like a real Assman buckle to me. The 'upright' swastika type is very desirable, and the condition of yours is very nice.
Welcome to the Forum. I am not a buckle expert but the unique Assman example appears to be a legitimate example.

Im a freshman when it comes to collecting and I was just wondering, You say Assmann but its marked RZM. Have I missed something?![]()
In the second photo, look at the bottom right corner for the RZM marking. RZM marked and upright swastika...that is very nice!
RZM means 'Reichzeugmeisterei,' which was the quality control wing of the Nazi Party. The mark on your buckle reads 'RZM 17,' which indicates that this was made by the firm with the RZM license number of 17, otherwise known as F.W. Assman und Söhne. The RZM symbol simply indicates that the firm was authorized to make items for Nazi Party members.
