Interesting buckle in that the maker marks are similar to Assmann multiple stamped HJ buckle. Hope to learn more about this one for sure

This is the same buckle that is show in Aogolia’s revised edition . This was in the Wahl collection. He is credited with lots of buckles in the book. This is one of the rarest box type buckles. The marking does remind me of some HJ buckle markings.

Very nice buckle and rare to boot, also expensive if you can ever find one!!!

Always great to see this buckle again. I saw my first one
40 years ago or so! It was included in a hoard of unknown
and rare buckles, in the possession of a US-collector from
California. It was guessed the buckle was for the members
of the Feldherrnhalle, due to its similarity of the eagle for
the gorget (but this one had a wreath). But there is no
document actually stating this!!
What wonders me about this buckle is the vague design for
the eagle, as well as the oakleaf wreath.
This type of eagle, but with wreath was also included in the
design for a car-flag for the Reichsführerschule at Munich.
The designed flags and pennants were not ever actually
introduced.

A great looking buckle for sure. I wonder, do these buckles come from the same haul as the LAPO ones, the one a US collector bought from the Assmann factory in the 70ies?

Yes, this type of buckle was included. It must have been in the late sixties or so, as
I am aware of this since the early 1970's when I had contact with this person, who
became a friend for many years.
Maybe it was indeed the 1970's. It is soo long ago.
