    Hello sirs,

I hate to bother you kinds folks but I have a question..which I should have asked a few days ago..before purchase.

Anyway, I purchased this on-line and I don't have it in hand yet but I think I made a mistake. The pictures were not spectacular but I got caught up in the moment and went for it. Under closer inspection of the makers marks, they look more rough around the edges than I would expect or what I have now seen on others.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.
    Best,
    Rob

Hi Joe...you are fortunate..as any purchase without research can be a costly gamble. The RZM number is good and to be expected in detail and time period of the dagger and materials used.
You`re right the photos are not the best and Im not thrilled that they can not be enlarged due to the use of the Photo hosting site you are using.

These photos will disappear in time and this thread useless. Please while the window of opportunity is still open please save these photos to your computer and repost them on this thread.

Since I helped you out quickly with an answer....a reciprocation of the same per my photo request would be appreciated. Sorry to be a hard a s s about it..but retaining data for future readers is a priority for this website.

Thank you very much Mr. Larry.. I'll sleep a little better tonight. I apologize for the picture issue. I was not aware that the pictures would vanish and will attempt to remedy this issue ASAP. Additionally, I will post new pictures when the item arrives in a few days.

Man, I was really kicking myself for being one of those guys who buys first and asks questions later.

    Hopefully this will work better.

    Thank you again.

    Yes sir.. thank you..

Just FYI, I didn't use Photobucket, and haven't for a while. I use a service called Postimage.org . It's free and seems to work great.

Thanks Rob ,I know you did not use photobucket..but the image was just one example.
Agreed they work great for personal use...yet " none " of them in the long run, not so friendly on websites.

Do you know the history of the dagger producer?

    Best Larry

BTW..in your 1st post..never consider it a bother..its why we are all here to study and to help each other out.

Good info on the photo posting sir. I was unaware and I can't stand when photos become inaccessible and that's why I moved away from photobucket.

I did briefly look up the makers mark but didn't spend much time on learning the history on it once I started thinking that it may not be legit. Not that you have taken that load off my mind, I will dig a little further.

I appreciate the help. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't spent much time researching/learning on here since my last post about a paratrooper knife I received direct from the vet last year. This gentleman was at Monte Casino. He had some interesting stories to say the least.

Nice to see the lanyard still attached to this paratrooper knife ...but for further discussion if you may start a new thread about this knife in the Luftwaffe dagger forum.

Each dagger has their own subforum for study and keeps all the information centralized in one particular area.

Looking forward to the Vets experience when he picked up this knife especially at Monte Casino.

Thank you sir.. There is a thread on here that I started when I first obtained the knife. I will try to find it and revive it.

    Best,
    Rob
