I think it would be wise to at least research this skiing event to see if there is any provenance, like a tinnie or any other mention, as for the dagger, I cannot comment on its validity, in itself it looks good, but the etching ? Wait for other opinions.. G

Dagger is real deal with nice fittings. About the etching, I like how it looks.
Like G told, wait another opinion for it.

Both thanks for the reply, i will wait patiently for the replies.
After reviewing closely ..I can see the 1934 acid etch application and the pimpling / straitions details it leaves behind..yet in the 1936 etch ......I see just the pimpling and no striations.
The dagger itself is good. Im just on the fence with the dedication.
Im cautious with these one and onlys and as Gwar points out...there must be another example out there since it was a skiing event.
Further research on the skiing event would benefit.

Thanks for the replies guys.
So the etching is probably post-war done, nevertheless the dagger itself is an original one?
The dagger itself looks like a period produced dagger. The dedication looks to be postwar done to make it more desirable.
