Pretty nice dagger but me thinks the scabbard has been repainted based on color. Could be lighting. Either way way I think you could do better at $800 with some patience. Not able to comment on rarity as I do not have the chart in front of me. Wait for other opinions.

Typical High grip shoulders to the low step lower crossguard fit....JP Sauer is known for that detail on the majority of their SA daggers.
JP Sauer
Haenel and Wilhelm Kober are Suhl producers known for their low step crossguards.
That letter M on the lower guard should be for the SA Gruppe " Mi " Mitte
I dont think you maybe seeing that little letter i ...but Mitte is one of the SA gruppe desginations for this dagger.
You can see the Gruppe marks list here for reference >
SA Gruppe marks known to Dagger Producers and Manufacturers
I would expect to see an oak grip on these Sauer daggers ...but they did vary.
The scabbard is painted which means mid to late period ...it does not originally belong to the dagger.
Im going to guess that the paint is brown and not Red as it appears due to the photo.
Early dagger with a mid to late period scabbard.... I think you may have some wiggle room to negotiate a lower price due to the 2 different production periods.

Thank you that helps. So would this be considered a parts dagger?
-
Its not that far off ,,I would consider a parts dagger 3 or more parts.
This would be considered " Mismatched " dagger and scabbard
