Think this thread did a lot of good in warning future collectors about cleaning. Nice to have the "just left the factory look" new and shiny but we can often do more harm than good by removing grain or stamping/markings by cleaning with abrasives or polish. I know Flitz is often used to polish but it does contain an abrasive. Thanks to all that shared their views on this taboo subject.
Well i guess i helped this community by my mistake of "cleaning" the dagger.What i learned is "always leave the item as it is".Thank you all for you help!
