SA dagger reproduction
This thread will be dedicated in identifying in detail..reproduction SA daggers. These daggers are easily identifiable..through their lack of craftmanship..and detail compared to period examples. Mostly for the collector....the difference can be felt in weight and balance. Below are photos of recently made parts for this type of dagger.

These guards appear to be the RZM type..which are supposed to be the plated variety...except that..they give the appearance of having patina. This process was recreated giving the guards that " brushed steel" look to it.

The reproductions are not the problem, but the people who sell those as Original parts are the problem.

The 3rd photo down is the Best....I think it still might be warm from the mold injection.
It is not the size of a Collection in History that matters......Its the size of your Passion for it!!

Larry, if you find a time, can write the some kind of introduction for these this topic in the first post.
And set these topic as sticky.
Also i think that I'm in post number 4. incorrectly described crossguard. These crossguard looks like polished, not nickle plated.
What do you think ?
Thanks in advance.

We have 3 types of cross guards.
* Nickel silver
* Chrome Plated zinqbase ( pot metal)
* Aluminium ( Npea & upgraded SA & NSKK daggers, mostly done +/- in 1938
The ones you show here look like the ALU type.
I will add some Original AlU guard here with correct inner markings when i find the time.

Small correction.
In the most chases there was a nickel plating on the RZM SA crossguards.
Chrome does not have great brilliance as a nickel.
