SA dagger scabbard
New member as of yesterday.
I have a pre-1936 SA dagger (Gebr-Becker Solingen, Wf) which has no scabbard.
I would appreciate any tips on where to find one and what one might expect to pay.
Not seeing anything on ebay or various militaria sites so far.
Probably hard to locate one but who knows?

John its tricky to buy a scabbard on ebay or anywhere on the internet.
The curves of the throat - Lower guards differ by maker.
So an Eickhorn scabbard will not fit a Pack dagger, there will be a gap between the guard and the throat.
best practise is to take your dagger to a militaria show and try to find one, that way you can see if it has a good fit.

Seems unlikely that I'll find a period scabbard that will fit.
Would it be a good idea to get a replica scabbard made?
If that's even possible...

Hi John ..if you replicate a scabbard ...it may do damage to the blade of your dagger....Im not sure what kind of runners that "might" be in there and if it is not a period scabbard ...your taking a chance on damage that can not be reversed.
Just keep checking dealer websites....they are rare to find but do turn up.

If you find one on the internet ( on ebay.com search dagger scabbard German) the best way to check it is to enlarge it to the size of a real scabbard, the make a print en cut it out.
Now you have a template and put it on the dagger
now look if they have a good fit.
50-60% chance
