Hi friends, I've been looking to pick up my first SA dagger. I recently asked the forums opinion on a late period example Eickhorn RZM SA dagger. The dagger received positive feedback, but I didn't manage to land that one. Soon thereafter though, I found a much earlier (and I think more interesting) example in this dagger by Christianswerk, Solingen.

It's not pristine, but I think it's a nice one for my first pick-up. It's got some age spotting here and there on the blade, but is untouched and unmolested - no dagger-sharpening fool managed to get his hands on this one. It's got great cross-grain (that I seem to have failed to capture in the photos) and nice dark motto lettering - though it looks washed-out in my pics for some reason. The brown anodized scabbard is in great shape with a nice, un-smashed ball. The lower crossguard is Gau stamped “Nrh” (Niederrhein).

I'm happy with this one as my first SA dagger, and look forward to more. Thanks for having a look and taking the time to comment!

EDIT - I'm seeing after posting this that my pics came out a bit blurry... I'll try to take a few better ones this evening!

Thanks, Larry! I wanted my first one to be a good one, so I did my research and deemed this one to be a solid, untouched original. Of course, if it weren't for the great resources and helpful collectors on this forum, I could have easily ended up with something worse. Thanks to all.
