This one photo explains it all as to what has been performed applying the laser etch dedication...its very obvious you can see the difference between the area of the logo and the dedication.
The community here has fully answered to the dagger and its details...the worst part of this dagger although there are some details that are correct as you have pointed out ...but the etch is bad.
Research a little on your part within this SA sub forum and you will see the differences between acid and laser etched applications.

We are seeing an authentic blade as Dave has pointed out ruined by a laser etch dedication. When you study more into Rohm daggers you will see these details and differences.
Below is the obvious photo you posted showing the blade and grey area in question.

Thanks for the quality photo. The phot Larry shows is clear as day showing wiped blade with reapplied etch.

Im going to go with door number 2 ...since the Aesculap small logo is correct for this blade.
