Looks like the lower crossguard on part Rohm is nickel plated.
It's not plated, it's nickle silver? i think thats what you call it.

oh i see what your looking at, thats where the belt sander hit the lower part of the crossguard.
Both daggers are original ...its ashame about the overzealous grind job.
Please post each dagger separately for discussion.

Ok i'll repost them separately, thank you for the reply, i'm just glad there real!! Yes i agree on the grind job, i was talking to a couple guys who have collected stuff for 40 years plus and they where telling me stories of finding daggers in tackle boxes and barns where the vets used them to cut baling twine and fishing string and they where all sharpened etc. I guess back in the day they weren't nothing to some vets.
