Good looking items. If made out of a base metal I wonder if they had been originally silver plated. So perhaps a Knife rest?

Thanks for the help Mark, you were right. Tin knife rest produced by German company Kayserzinn around 1900. Rests only the question how it end up in a foxhole? Maybe taken by American soldiers from a German home?

Soldier , child , thief , it's impossible to tell really . Metal detectors undercover only questions usually " how the hell did that get there ? " Interesting find.
