I agree...If I were to come across such a cross I would likely assume that the neck-ribbon was added for either theatrical reasons or by an over-eager youngster at some time during its journey......
Good-looking Cross, congratulations on your score and thanks for showing!
cheers, Glenn
Some beautiful crosses being shown here...Well done, Marc!!

In such cases I always send the seller a polite message in German, asking if I may bid despite living in the US...I haven't been rejected yet...My problem is when they don't accept PayPal, lol......
I can't comment on the fob that has replaced the original ribbon...could have been done yesterday for all we know, as it's not an official EK-related item...
I find original EKIIs on EbayGermany at...
Too high...I find EKII Award Documents on EbayGermany for around 35 Euros...Forget US Ebay!
cheers, Glenn
I've got this owner-vaulted Screwback to Pinback Conversion, and I personally believe it has far more "character" than any minty example could have...To each their own, as they say, lol...
cheers,...
I speculate this is an Allied piece or a postwar-cottage industry product...flicking ashes on the EK would have been seriously frowned upon in German society, I assume, lol...Thanks for showing!...
Congratulations, Marc...Great way to top off the year!
Wishing you continued good luck in your collecting endeavor...
cheers, Glenn
A fine grouping of crosses, well done Marc and thanks for showing!
cheers, Glenn
Thanks, Greg...It's a Screwback EKI converted to Pinback...I've always felt very confident of the hardware, pin-plate, C-Catch and workmanship being period to early 1920s, having seen similar quality...
Is it magnetic?
Cheers, Glenn
Yes, it's a period conversion...I can see that in the hardware and workmanship, It's actually a very sturdy set-up, not as flimsy at it looks, lol...
cheers and continued good luck,
Glenn
I believe this is a rare as yet unidentified maker, there are "K" marked EKIIs as well...
I'm hoping Greg/Chopperman will add his opinions...
Here is my EKI...a vaulted period conversion from...
It appears to be an original vaulted cross..."K" is a legitimate maker, though an obscure one!
cheers, Glenn
Outstanding addition to your collection, friend! Thanks for the comparison photo as well....
cheers, Glenn
That's a beauty, Marc! I like that massive needle...well done, friend!
cheers, Glenn
Nice one, Marc! Here is my example with 1917 dated award document...
cheers, Glenn
Beautiful set-up and as always your photography is terrific!
cheers, Glenn
Thanks Friends, I'm glad you like the grouping...The cross itself is unmarked. Happy hunting!
cheers, Glenn
Parade mounted EKII with award document dated 1917...A new arrival from Germany!
cheers, Glenn
Pure luck my friend...That shop deals mostly in antique furniture, so they don't really know much about Militaria/Values. Needless to say, I wasn't going to volunteer to pay market price! Cheers,...
I just couldn't walk away from the field-repaired EK1....A vaulted Screwback converted to a Pinback...Marked "800"257632257633257631 I picked up the Ribbon Bar this afternoon at a local...
