I agree...If I were to come across such a cross I would likely assume that the neck-ribbon was added for either theatrical reasons or by an over-eager youngster at some time during its journey......

In such cases I always send the seller a polite message in German, asking if I may bid despite living in the US...I haven't been rejected yet...My problem is when they don't accept PayPal, lol......

I can't comment on the fob that has replaced the original ribbon...could have been done yesterday for all we know, as it's not an official EK-related item...

Too high...I find EKII Award Documents on EbayGermany for around 35 Euros...Forget US Ebay!

I speculate this is an Allied piece or a postwar-cottage industry product...flicking ashes on the EK would have been seriously frowned upon in German society, I assume, lol...Thanks for showing!...

Thanks, Greg...It's a Screwback EKI converted to Pinback...I've always felt very confident of the hardware, pin-plate, C-Catch and workmanship being period to early 1920s, having seen similar quality...

Is it magnetic?

Yes, it's a period conversion...I can see that in the hardware and workmanship, It's actually a very sturdy set-up, not as flimsy at it looks, lol...

I believe this is a rare as yet unidentified maker, there are "K" marked EKIIs as well...
I'm hoping Greg/Chopperman will add his opinions...

It appears to be an original vaulted cross..."K" is a legitimate maker, though an obscure one!
