    We were there during the winter, and in Germany they often close some parts of the visits.
    So we could only see the inside of the main housing building were some of the prisioners were...

    By 1944, the main camp area had about 12000 inmates.
    However the camp had 70 satellite camps with twice that number of inmates.
    By 1945 the total death toll was about 55000.
