It was bayonet night tonight in the war room. I'm no specialist, but I seem to have ended up with a few over the years. The Fire-Police bayonet in fairly poor condition was the first original TR bayonet I ever bought... when I was about 12 years old.

Yes the groups looks nice, personally dont believe the knot on S84/98 second from left should be probably on a dress KS98 instead as here. Any details about the combat bayonets?

Troddeln bayonet knots while mainly associated with the KS98, the useage wasn't exclusive. There were occasions when an Troddel was attached to a S84/98 bayonet, typically with a parade or honor guard. So not quite correct to say it shouldn't be on a S84/98

There are nearly identical service and Extra KS98 version of trodeln, different colors , details and quality. This knot presented here on second bayonet is light color which is typical for extra dress knots. thats all. is possible the complet green trodell should be on S84/98 bayonet as a Staff unit and not on KS98 as here pictured.

Hi Todd ....Overall a Great collection of Combat and Dress Bayonets.

I find it encouraging that you bought the Fire bayo when you were 12 years old.
I started my collecting when I was in 6th grade when Unique Imports was around and still have my first German Helmet for $25. Repainted M35 of course with Norwegian liner.

Nice to see a Richard Herder Dress bayo

The solid green Troddel, I believe, indicates Regimental Staff.

We discussed the wear of Troddeln on field bayonets in my other thread. That particular bayonet is not pictured in this thread.
    Interesting S84/98 III (K98k) bayonet.

Thanks Rich. I lived in Alexanderia, just off of King Street, for one year when I was stationed in D.C.
