I can't say that I've ever seen one with the red cloth in the bayonet lug, but it looks like it belongs there! Interesting! Beautiful Herder! Great pick up! William

Thanks William caught my eye right away when I seen it pulled it from the scabbard and recognized the makers name right away think I got an ok deal at $80.00 CDN thanks for looking gents.

Thanks william and Eric thanks for the thread that explains alot about the bayonet and its history I do wonder what the reasoning was behind the felt thoe will have do a little research.
