A friend picked this up and I'm not to sure about it the grips look replaced the scabbard is marked in the wrong spot . Is this a rework or a Frankenstein or a repop. Thanks for looking. Gary

Indian repro piece. nothing original there.
A crudely made piece with some patina that could fool a novice, so beware,
a fake Bayonet

This one was fairly easy to identify as a fake. A couple of years ago at a show a non-blade specialist picked up in a trade a different better made example that was probably from another manufacturer (that could have been in another country). He was not happy to receive the bad news, my point being that that for new prospective purchasers the forum is a good way to go if there are no knowledgeable fellow collectors in your local area.
