Hello,
You have an S84/98 that was used in another country after 1945. You can tell that by the number on the top of the handle head.
Unfortunately, the piece has been completely burnished and etched in modern times. This is not the original and did not exist until 1945. Unfortunately, such a piece is worthless to a collector.
The frog is interesting. This is a rare version of Fischer for the S98/05 made of synthetic leather in white color for the police.

Thank you very much. Your explanation overpassed my expectations
Your bayonet was made in 1935 by Carl Eickhorn,do the scabbard markings match up?.....Pete.

same opinion like SW, postwar used bayonet S84/98, polished and etched on blade, hard to return to previous condition, the frog looks like a nice police S98/05 whitened.
Thank you all. Good thing that frog is authentic.
Markings on scabbard and bayonet don't match...
Interesting frog. Shame about the bayonet. These fake etched S84/98 bayonets first emerged in the 1970's in the UK and the practice was revived in Eastern Europe in the 1990's. An etched combat S84/98 is always a post war addition, no matter how good the story.
