omc doesnt exist, its a caligrafical M for Maschinenhaus Ferlach, the upper row number is the real production number.

What Andy says is correct - what Genossenschafts Maschinenhaus der Büchsenmacher, Ferlach/Kärnten used as a maker's logo was "omc". That changed in February 1941 when it was given the letter code "bym". Best Regards, Fred

I just couldn't find it online and thought this forum might be able to help me with the answer.
I think there has been a mistake, I know who the manufacturer is but what I am looking for is WaA for omc in 1939 and in 1940? ..
    WaA757 is from 1940 (bym) and WaA939 is used in from 1943 - 44.
    regards

Are you sure that the last digit on the 1944 is not an "8"? Best Regards, Fred

Yes he is wrong WaA938 is on bym41-4. Early production is 757 as mentioned probably from 39-41. WaA938 used since late 1941, the majority of WaA are not good visible. When You buy Yourself a bym40 piece You will see the WaA proof.

I pressed the wrong keyboard (WaA938) And then my question about this omc 1939 - 40, what WaA uses it or uses it. omc is so rare that no one really knows the WaA stamp on the pommel, on the end of the scabbard (finial), on the nut for the push button, or elsewhere but again many times the stamp can hardly be seen due to sled roofs or the stamp is not very deep. If anyone has it in the picture, I'd like to see it. thanks.

    Hello,

no it's not "omc". "omc" definitely doesn't exist.

This is the symbol of the manufacturer "Genossenschafts -Maschinenhaus der Büchsenmacher, Ferlach-Kärnten" (Machinery House of Gunsmiths, Ferlach-Carinthia) is a calligraphic "M". Just an "M" vor "Maschinenhaus".

In addition, it is often read backwards by those who are not familiar with it.

This is the right way round. Then you can also recognize the M

    omc 1940

    Regards
