That's a nice etched KS98. Photos not perfectly sharp, but enough to see that's a genuine Pack etch, pattern No.1 from the order book. Is it sharpened ? it shouldn't be, I take it you haven't handled it. There is a suggestion of an edge from the photo. The GI's for some reason felt compelled to put an edge on these parade side arms. If you are buying, a sharpened blade would be attract a lower value.

The forum is thankful for Andersons expertise and his sharp eyes with these bayos and dress bayos.
Many of these bayos were ruined by fake etches in hopes to hump up value as these plain bladed bayos today are very affordable in the $160 range. Scammers would gamble on that amount and hopefully get a 4x size return on a single etch blade.
I like these bayos both plain and etched. The fun of collecting these types are getting the producer both long and short blades.
