Looks like a good early example in great condition..IMHO
From these not extra detailed pictures,it could be say its a well used S84/98 from Eickhorn Solingen under code 172 from 1936, the pommel and scabbard has the blueing already removed by using. The blade could be well preserved by scabbard. The interesting thing is the unit stamp on frog, which is Inf.Regt. nr.61, i assume the troddel is for NCO, but it could be for dress bayonet?
It's a tidy example from 1936. Bayonets from the pre-war period often had a long period of service. The blue finish looks like the original as the scabbard wear is fairly typical of bayonets from the S Code era. Wood grips look like the originals as well. As Andy points out, the frog is particularly interesting with the regiment mark. The troddel is an NCO type and while would be used with a dress KS98, equally sometimes it was fitted to the combat bayonet and frog, as period photos show,
IR61 is an bavarian unit from Munich. Muenchen.
