2nd pattern BGS Grenztruppjäger walking out uniform. Cap and tunic are dated 1964 with the tunic being manufactured by Pfennig & Hoppe G.m.b.H and the cap by Alkero. Second pattern deinstrock was introduced in 1960 with the most notable changes being the switched from rough wool to tricot and addition of french cuffs. In 1965 tunics were no longer made for compatibility with belt hooks. Regulation of the Bundesgrenzschutz sleeve arc was initiated somewhere within the 1971-72 period with old 60s tunics being updated until new uniforms replaced them. the exact date of when it was initiated is not really known, the Bundespolizei website claims 1970 but former BGS members have told me around 1971-1972. Belt is dated 1954, shirt and tie don't have an exact date but are 1960s. The whistle would probably be more appropriate for a NCO or officer rank but was found in the pocket so I left it with the tunic.
